Silver Care

All Sciunnach jewelry is carefully hand-finished and made with high-quality 925 silver.

Sciunnach products comply with nickel release rates as per EEC Regulation 1907/2006, standard EN 1811:2011.

925 silver tends to oxidize over time, but the process can accelerate if the jewelry comes into contact with external agents such as salt, sulfur, chlorine, and the acidic pH of the skin. Oxidation is therefore not a manufacturing defect and is not covered by warranty.

Gold and rose gold plated silver
We recommend not wearing gold and rose gold plated silver jewelry when bathing or swimming, and avoiding contact with creams and perfumes. Over time, and with use, it is natural for the plating to fade; as this is not a conformity defect or flaw, this aspect is not covered by warranty.
However, it is possible to request new plating for the jewelry, the feasibility of which must be verified on a case-by-case basis.

Care and maintenance of Laura Sciunnach jewelry
To care for your Laura Sciunnach jewelry and maintain its quality, we suggest following some simple tips.

Jewelry protection
Exposure to humidity, heat, and sweat accelerates the oxidation process of jewelry, which therefore should never be worn in situations that could compromise its characteristics (for example, when bathing in the sea, swimming, in a sauna, or when playing sports). It is advisable not to let the jewelry come into contact with creams, makeup, hairspray, perfume, or household chemicals as these can also cause oxidation.
A good rule is to ensure that the jewelry is the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off in the evening.

To protect jewelry from potential damage, it is advisable to avoid dropping it on the ground or hitting hard surfaces.

Jewelry storage
To avoid scratches and prevent oxidation and dust contact, when not worn, jewelry should be stored in a pouch or box.
To prevent the accumulation of oxidation layers and maintain the brilliance of 925 silver, it is sufficient to regularly clean the jewelry with a suitable polishing cloth. However, this precaution does not remove any scratches that may have appeared on the silver surface.

For cleaning unplated 925 silver jewelry, it is advisable to rub with a soft-bristled toothbrush a small amount of neutral soap and rinse with lukewarm water. An alternative is to mix water and baking soda and soak the jewelry for about 30 minutes. If dirt persists, use specific silver care products.
